20. Leading into the Scripture

  • RealLife Plus Seminar
    1. Attend RealLife Plus Seminar.
    2. Complete instructor's workout.
    3. Discuss with an Equipping Partner.
  • Evangelism Training
    1. Participate in Big Break over Spring Break or a CCC Summer Project.
    2. Write out four transitional questions (in your own words) that you can use to lead someone into a conversation about Christ.
    3. Memorize them.
    4. Draw from the list in two conversations with different non-Christians with whom you are able to share the gospel.
    5. Debrief with your Equipping Partner.
  • Book Review
    1. Read Out of the Salt Shaker and Into the World: Evangelism as a Way of Life by Rebecca Manley Pippert or Finding Common Ground by Tim Downs.
    2. Complete a book review.
    3. Share the gospel in three natural conversations with non-Christians.
    4. Discuss the experiences and your Book Review with an Equipping Partner.
  • Follow-Up Study
    1. Read NLTC: “How to Present the Four Spiritual Laws II” (Basic), and the Godsquad articles: “Building Bridges” , and “Making the Issue Clear”.
    2. Borrowing at least five ideas from these three sources, type out a list of ten questions or transitional interchanges (in your own words) that you can use to start a spiritual conversation.
    3. Memorize four of them.
    4. Practice them in a role-play with an Equipping Partner.
    5. Arrange to be in a social setting with your Equipping Partner and one or more non-Christians (hanging out in the cafeteria, a dorm, the gym, a lounge…). Use one of your four transitional questions, and share the Would You Like to Know God Personally? booklet (or Life@Large) with the person(s).
    6. Use a question and share the booklet a second time in another conversation on your own. Discuss the experiences with your Equipping Partner.
