21. Establishing a New Believer

    1. Attend RealLife Plus Seminar.
    2. Complete instructor's workout.
    3. Discuss with an Equipping Partner.
  • Follow-Up Study
    1. Work through NLTC: “Understanding Follow-Up” (Intermediate), then read the Life Concepts “Leader’s Info” on the Godsquad; and download or otherwise obtain a complete set of the five Life Concepts.
    2. Memorize the main point of each lesson as well as what you would say to a new or young believer to invite and encourage him to go through the series with you.
    3. Meet with an Equipping Partner, and recite the five main points in sequence from memory, and role-play your invitation.
    4. Go through the series with a new or young believer; invite your Equipping Partner to join you for one of your sessions.
    5. Evaluate the experience with your Equipping Partner.
  • Book Review
    1. Read John R. W. Stott’s Basic Christianity.
    2. Instead of writing a book review, extract Stott’s outline of the final chapter “Being a Christian,” and type it up in such a way that clearly demonstrates Stott’s view of what a new believer must understand. Look up every Bible reference he gives.
    3. Identify one of Stott’s points in this chapter that you think would be most helpful either to your Life Group or to a particular young believer you know on campus.
    4. Read through all five Life Concepts; get a copy of one that touches on the issue or Bible text you have identified and would like to share.
    5. With reference to any helpful Stott material, lead your Life Group or friend through the Life Concepts sheet.
    6. Share your outline and debrief with an Equipping Partner.
